Uganda is extremely behind the united states in the most basic of accessibilities. With terrible cell service and almost no means of mail, news or access to the outside world, it is like taking a step back in time. With an average age of 15, the country of Uganda and its people are at serious risk. These risks include human labor, sex and organ trafficking.
Uganda's lack of documentaion and goverment corruption leaves its citizens stuck in poverty, helpless and in serious need.
Unlike the United States, where even the poorest have opportunity, Ugandan's are dieing regularly from very preventable situations.
The serious poverty leaves the already vulnerable subjected to exploitations and illness.
The average age in Uganda is only 15. It is extremely rare to see the elderly. Children live past their parents at very early ages, which leaves them homeless. Unlike the United States, there are not many options for an abandoned child in Uganda. Which means they die on the streets or by chance get rescued by an orphanage that has room. This leaves children exptremly vulnerable. They are not old enough to work for food or water which leaves them with little options of survival.
If you ask any Ugandan native if they would rather have a team come to Uganda to serve or receive the money it takes to send a team... they will always answer that they would rather have the team. You can not put a price on knowledge or opportunity. The impact our resources, skills and abilities have on their future is vital.
